Protip: Before getting weird and Islamophobic, read the Qur’an and do at least minimal research on the history of Islam.
I really don’t want to have to get embarrassed for Islamophobes anymore. I think educated Islamophobes like Christopher Hitchens and the arguably educated Sam Harris are a rarity. How many have read even a single Surah? If you proclaim to dislike a religion, at least know something and if the religion in question is Islam, let it be something beyond the fact that 19 guys who pretended to be real Muslims did something very stupid over a decade ago.
Dealing with Islamophobia on a daily basis just wipes a person out and I’m not even a Muslim.
Terrorism committed by white Christian males, especially anti-choicers, is the biggest domestic terrorist threat to the United States. Republican presidential candidates Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, and Ron Paul are all white, anti-choice, two are Christians, one is a Catholic (for now), and the other is a Mormon. Why aren’t we insinuating they could be dangerous like we do with Obama, who doesn’t even belong to the same religion the 9/11 hijackers pretended to be? I think we all know why.
